Newaygo Old Town Tavern (The NOTT) – Cozy Bar & Grill with Exceptional Burgers, Fresh Seafood & Friendly Service in Newaygo, MI

From the signs and nostalgia to the delicious food and excellent service, we absolutely LOVED our lunch and time spent here. Natalie was our server. Very pretty and polite and gave excellent service! Started off with the mushrooms for an appetizer which were perfectly crispy. I had the Olive burger and Ma had the white fish sandwich. Im not a big fish fan and tried a bite. Have to say, it was also delicious. Both had Parmeasan garlic added to our fries. Best burger and fries I've ever had!!! Hands down. Ma also said best fish sandwich n fries she's ever had, also! We added a dollar to the dollar wall which was cute, a little funny and some a little naughty. Even the bathroom is cute and CLEAN! Lots of fun and games for kids and a very nice pool table.

We have been there twice and will definitely be returning often! We had burgers, whitefish, steak & a dinner special of rainbow trout. All were done perfectly, very tasty, the tater tots were crispy, house salad was great with the best cherry vinaigrette I have ever had! They also make gluten free pizza & lots of other yummy looking options. The service was fast & friendly-Kenzie was awesome!! Atmosphere is cozy & comfortable, can’t wait to go back

One of the BEST meals I've had! There's just no other way to start this review. We stopped in here for lunch, because we had never been here before. The atmosphere was cozy and rustic, yet fun. My wife and I, both ordered the steak burgers. I had the Bacon & Cheese burger It was absolutely fantastic! Cooked to a perfect medium, very juicy, not greasy. Everything tasted fresh. It was simply an excellent burger. My wife ordered the fries, while I tried the tots, and again, my first thought was "cooked to perfection!". Very crisp and tasty. Overall, a great experience. Our waitress, Kenzie, was very cordial and polite. Service was great. This is a nice hidden treasure in downtown Newaygo. If you find yourself in the downtown area shopping or just enjoying the day, stop at NOTT, Newaygo Old Town Tavern. We will definitely dine here again! Just my two cents! :)

I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The food is truly excellent—fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Every dish I tried was delicious and exceeded my expectations. The staff also do a great job. They’re attentive, polite, and keep everything running smoothly without ever feeling overbearing. It really adds to the experience. The atmosphere is another standout. The space is clean, fun, and has such good energy. Rodney is one of our absolute favorites, it's always a good time! Whether you’re going out with friends or just looking for a relaxing meal, it’s a great place to be. Overall, I highly recommend this restaurant. Excellent food, great service, and a lively, welcoming vibe!

Great food and experience at the NOTT!! I suggest going on a day that Rodney is working.. he is always sociable and makes the best cocktails. There is one bartender that is friendly but is super loud making it difficult to enjoy your meal. While there try their steak and take a moment to check out the artwork (I was told it was done by one of their bartenders- talent).

We had a great experience here today. Fast friendly service, fair prices, and delicious food.

My elderly parents and I enjoyed eating at the NOTT. My dad got the olive burger with onion rings. My mom got the whitefish sandwich with skin-on fries. I had the grilled cheese with tots. My parents both enjoyed their food, but I was underwhelmed by my grilled cheese. It's on the regular menu, but it should be on the kids menu since it only has American cheese on it. I recall you can add protein, but as a vegetarian, I'd like to see the basic version be spruced up a bit for adults with the addition of pesto and tomato, or more than one type of cheese. They do offer a veggie burger, and I will try that in the future. The waiter was personable and did a nice job. However, we were sitting in the side room, and there's no good sight line from the main part of the restaurant/bar, where the servers spend most of their time. When only one or two tables in the side room are occupied, the patrons there are a bit of an afterthought. Overall, we enjoyed it and will be back.

Food was awesome and the Bartender, Rodney, was simply amazing. Had pizza - I guess was made by the same cook that used to work at Schindys. The pizza was amazing - way more affordable than Schindys. Also, the drinks are half the price of what Schindys charges. Very nice atmosphere. The NOTT is an awesome place and would highly recommend it to anyone. Recommend everyone from white cloud to drive the extra distance to the NOTT - than going to Schindys- better atmosphere, better food - tons more options, and you will spend A LOT less. Well worth the drive..
